'Portier z hotelu Mewa' is a bitter-sweet grotesque crime story that depicts the ambiguities and obscurity of communist regime in Poland. The porter in a workers hotel is a role-model citizen and his hassle-free life goes on focused on a little everyday habits. One accidental discovery in a hotel's corridor that at first glance appears trivial will turn his small world upside down. It turns out that Zawada becomes handy for the local authority to be their scapegoat in order to please its senior management. When the carefully prepared plan was just about to be completed successfully, events take another, surprising turn.
