19th Sheffield Doc/Fest

'Fuck for Forest' directed by Michał Marczak will be presented at 19th Sheffield Doc/Fest International Documentary Film Festival. The Festival will take place from 12th to 16th June 2013.

 

 

Sheffield Doc/Fest

Doc/Fest Film Festival is one of the significant film festivals in Europe. It takes place in Sheffield in the United Kingdom. During Doc/Fest it is possible to take part in several different kinds of events i.a.:

  • screenings of documentary films,
  • Q&A sessions with filmmakers,
  • panel discussions,
  • workshops,
  • masterclasses,
  • ‘MeetMarket’ pitching session.


Plot of ‘Fuck For Forest’

Danny, a young man from Norway, keeps trying to find a place for himself. He meets the ‘Fuck for Forest’ group in Berlin. They are selling home video porn films to raise funds for the environment. After receiving a total of 420,000 € they travel to the Amazon to buy the land and give it out to the Native Americans. However, some unexpected circumstances occur.


About the film

‘Fuck For Forest’ had its premiere in Polish cinemas on 23rd November 2012. To date, it was screened at several international festivals, among others in Helsinki, Rotterdam and Austin. Moreover, the production was presented at the first edition of Docs to go!

The Film has won the Best Documentary Film Award at the 28th Warsaw Film Festival and was nominated for the ‘Eagle’ Polish Film Awards as well.
